Dan Grovatt is a Senior Vice President at Colliers and is a managing director of the firm’s national practice group for Marina and Leisure assets. Dan joined Colliers in 2018 as a founding partner of the Leisure Property Advisors team that specializes in marina and leisure property investment sales across the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean. In addition to investment sales, the team focuses on long-term advisory relationships through its strategic analysis program. As part of that program, Mr. Grovatt also routinely provides clients with strategic asset analyses and investment planning throughout their investment cycle.
Mr. Grovatt began his commercial real estate career in 2014 and played a key role in the launching of the marina property division at Marcus & Millichap in 2015. Dan has been involved in over sixty leisure asset sales in over twenty states and two countries and has advised clients on over $1.5 Billion worth of leisure assets ranging from marinas, RV parks, and golf courses. He has served a wide range of clients in the leisure asset space from sole property owner-operators to large fund managers. In 2021, Dan was the recipient of the Marina Dock Age Young Leader award which acknowledges professionals under the age of 40 that have made significant contributions to the marina industry.
Prior to his real estate career, Dan played four seasons for the Pittsburgh Pirates and their affiliates after being an 11th round selection in the 2010 MLB Draft. He graduated from University of Virginia in 2013 and was a key part of the Cavaliers ACC Baseball Championship and first College World Series appearance. While playing at Virginia, he earned first team All-ACC and freshman All-American honors, an ACC tournament MVP and was a two-time All-ACC Academic team selection.
