Andrew Cantor is a founding partner and a Managing Director of the Leisure Property Advisors team, the national practice group for Colliers specializing in the brokerage of marinas and other leisure focused properties throughout the United States and Caribbean. Andrew works closely with Matt Putnam, Dan Grovatt and Kate Tarokh on the execution of the team’s brokerage assignments. Andrew’s focus is on working with property owners develop a plan for the eventual disposition of their property including helping them understand what their property may be trade for in the market (Broker Opinion of Value), advising ways to enhance the value, helping them who the buyer pool is likely to be, and, when a decision is made to dispose of the property, running a process on their behalf in which buyers compete so that he obtains the best price and terms for them along with the highest probability of closing under those terms.
Andrew brings over 30 years of real estate transaction and advisory experience to Colliers, including over 20 years specializing in marina, golf, RV park and boutique hospitality assets having been involved I over $1 billion in closed transactions. Over the past six years he and his team have brokered the sale of over 60 marinas and RV parks in 21 states and two countries ranging in transactions ranging in size from $1.2 million to over $40 million.
In addition to his expertise in property sales, Andrew is recognized as a leading expert in marina and golf course finance. In 2004, Mr. Cantor started the marina lending program for Textron Financial. Over four years he grew that idea into the largest marina lender in the nation with over $200 in fundings on marinas in the United States, the Caribbean, and Mexico. Previously, as a member of Textron’s Golf Finance Division, he underwrote over $600 million in acquisition, refinance, and construction loans on golf courses and resorts throughout North America. Prior to Textron, he was Director of Acquisitions for KSL Fairways, platform company backed by the KKR private equity firm, where he played a key role on a team that purchased eight golf courses and the Doral Resort. Mr. Cantor started his career at Arthur Andersen in the Real Estate Services Group advising on a number of complex real estate matters.
