Brooke Armour Spiegel is Executive Vice President of the California Business Roundtable and President of the Center for Jobs and the Economy, the Roundtable’s nonprofit data arm. Over the past 20 years, she has been involved in some of California’s most high-profile policy debates and ballot initiative campaigns. She has also worked with Fortune 50 companies, non-profit organizations, and led statewide coalitions on a variety of successful public affairs and advocacy campaigns.
For seven years, Brooke worked in the California State Legislature, serving in senior state positions for members of the Assembly and Senate. She was a key negotiator and advisor on public safety and budget issues, in addition to leading the media and communications shops for high-profile members of the Assembly and Senate.
In 2010, Brooke left the Legislature to join the public affairs firm Wilson-Miller Communications (now Miller Public Affairs Group). As Vice President of Miller Public Affairs Group, Brooke designed strategies and built and executed high-profile public affairs campaigns on issues facing large and small companies and non-profit organizations in California. She led efforts to support or oppose state legislative and regulatory actions, built and managed national and statewide brands, handled crisis communications, and created dynamic complementary social media campaigns for her clients.
Throughout her career, Brooke has held senior positions on more than 15 high-profile statewide ballot initiative campaigns, including efforts to create a statewide criminal DNA database, the creation of the state’s open primary system, and opposing targeted tax increases on businesses in California, rent control, and split-roll property tax increases.
Brooke graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
