Mike Conroy is the West Coast Director for the Responsible Offshore Development Alliance (RODA), responsible for tracking and engaging on offshore development activities (offshore renewable energy and aquaculture) which may impact fishing communities along the west coast. RODA is a broad membership-based coalition of fishing industry associations and fishing companies committed to improving the compatibility of new offshore development with their businesses. With over 240 members, representing well over 1,000 small fishing businesses, across the U.S. – RODA is the largest organization in this space.

Mike is the Co-chair of the Pacific Fishery Management Council’s Marine Planning Committee and Vice Chair of the Council’s Highly Migratory Species Advisory Subpanel. He has operated commercial passenger carrying vessels in Southern California and commercial fishing vessels prosecuting a number of state and federally managed species. He has been active in legislative and regulatory processes on both the federal level and in various states.

He holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of San Diego and a Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business Administration from Santa Clara University. Mike is an avid fisherman, prefers a long board over a short board, can usually get down the mountain on a snowboard without falling, and a beginning guitar player.
